I so vividly recall the moment that I first saw Mr. Pencils on our wedding day. It was not in the planned first look- no, I cheated. I watched him as he walked to where our photographers stood, waiting to call me out when he was in place.
I hid in the brides' room and watched him walk and as my bridesmaids chastised me for looking, all I could think and say was:
"He looks perfect."
And he did. I was overcome with my love and my luck as I watched him pace, waiting to see me. Finally, I couldn't stand it a second longer and I joined him. I think I didn't wait for my photographers' instructions, and I don't think this original location is exactly what either had envisioned. But it was perfect, because I was seeing him.
We moved to the other side of where you see us above for a better locale and our photographers' captured our second wind of exhilaration at seeing each other.
Then we headed up the road for a better photo backdrop that our photogs had scouted. Mr. Pencils helped me with my train- what a sweet guy.
I was quite literally soaking up every moment of pure joy with Mr. P. There are no words to capture how it feels to see the person who is about to become your life partner the day of your wedding. I wanted to freeze time, which you can see pretty well here:
And there remained that lingering excitement and joy and utter disbelief that it was really happening.
Then we went for a short walk along the fence. It was about 90 degrees and we welcomed the brief respite in the shade of the trees.
And now for what may be my favorite four photos from our Pre-Wedding Photoshoot. The Suspender Shots. First I just had to grab them and admire.
Then I realized the joy that could come of these contraptions...and my photographer has impeccable timing on his trigger finger and caught it in action.
Yep. Love stings. Stings like the snap of suspenders.
We geeked out a bit and then went for another walk.
Then Mr. P had a brilliant idea- he wanted to jump down and then lift me down from this stone..thing. So we did just that.
Before I knew it, it was time for the party people to join us. I greeted my girls as they brought me my bouquet and we trekked back to the wooden fence.
Stay tuned for party people portraits and more.
