Made Up with Makeup

Like many other May brides, I have recently engaged in my hair and make up trials.  Mine took place at the wonderful Belleza Hair and Nail Salon.  I'd have to give the trials a solid plus rating; I saw some stuff I liked, the women who will be doing my wedding style are wonderful, and I know exactly what the small changes are that I'll want for real run.

I walked into my make up trial with images many have used before me:

I wear eyeliner and mascara every day, so I know that for my wedding eyes to be more dramatic, I'll have to go big or go home.  Hilary and Taylor may be a tad to dark, but Mischa looks about perfect.

Pencils trial tip: Make sure your printer has enough ink to print clear pictures.  Mine did not and I didn't realize it until it was too late and I was an hour away from my trial. The photos I brought were somewhat hard to see, especially the makeup examples!

I began the day with this naked face:

I landed in the makeup chair and couldn't resist a face:

With my hazel eyes, the makeup artist Alexandra and I agreed to go with the most complementary eyeshadow tones- mauves and purples.  The first try was dramatic but a bit...too defined and blunt:

So we smudged and rubbed and blended a bit until I had this:
I love my shimmery lips.

Two hours later and in natural light:

And finally, eight hours later in my jammies:
The lips are gone and it's a bit shiny, but overall, pretty great!

The small changes I'll ask for on the wedding day:
1) a bit heavier on the eyeliner- not too crazy, but more defined/darker
2) a bit more blending up and down of the purple/mauve eyeshadow
3) more mascara please! (to go with the fake eyelashes I'll be donning)
4) a bit more foundation/powder to reduce shine as the night wears on

Any other changes you recommend? Have you chosen your wedding day make up?
