Pura Vida Pencils: Beyond Relaxation & PWCs

On our second full day in Costa Rica, my hair became too much.  TOO MUCH.  So what's a girl to do but chop it off?  And if you don't have a barber nearby, a girl's new husband, who regularly shaves his own head, will do.

After a long day in the sun sailing and snorkeling, I was losing my mind with my ridic long hair.  So we borrowed some scissors from the front desk area, with the promise to return them soon.  Then, we got down to business.
My hair really was long!
Soon, Mr. Pencils fixed it for me!
Yes, I know it's all crazy in front.  We weren't going for an inverted bob, so he evened out the front...

Took a look at the back to see it's glitches...
And in the end, wound up with a really good cut that, when I went in three weeks later for an even out chop, the stylist said was nearly perfect!

I had a great stylist.  Thanks Mr. P!
We reveled in our glory with some drinks by the pool...

Coca-Cola for yours truly and some Costa Rican beer, Imperial, for Mr. Pencils.
We then took our drinks to one of the lounge beds/benches overlooking the ocean and read a bit.

Until happy hour, of course, where I got addicted to Miami Vices- half daiquiri and half pina colada.  Man, I want one NOW!

The next morning, we went beyond relaxation and went on a kayaking tour of the mangroves.

The mangroves were gorgeous.
We even saw a rare silky anteater.

We returned to our room to enjoy our final night at this beach side resort before going to our second locale.  We found this amazing view.

How would we leave such beauty?!?!

After a short nap, we enjoyed a final dinner with our amazing server Davy.

We even got the special honeymoon table that night.  Oh yes.

The next morning, we enjoyed our breakfast next to the pool...and I was watched the entire time by a very large iguana.

After breakfast, we trekked down the water as a sort of farewell, as our next hotel is set up in the rainforest and not a short walk from the ocean.

In the final installment of the Pencils' Honeymoon, we venture to our second and last hotel stop, the Gaia Hotel and Reserve and enjoy the best sunset this side of the world.

All photos above, personal photos by me or Mr. Pencils.

Would you let your new spouse give you your Post Wedding Chop?
